Edward John Brandner's Obituary
Our beloved father, grandfather, and widowed husband of wife Ileen Brandner was united with our Lord on October 21, 2024. Edward was born on September 29, 1929 to Amelia (Beutelspacher) and Frederick Preszler in Eureka, SD. After his mother’s passing, Edward was adopted in November of 1930 by Mathilda and Henry Brandner from McPherson County, North Dakota. Edward proudly served in multiple branches of the Air Force from November 1946-August 1956. During the war his cousin initiated a pen pal relationship with Ileen Brandner, who he later married in December of 1952 while they both worked for Standard oil Company. Shortly after, they settled in Circle, Montana.
They relocated to Tacoma with their three children in the early 1960’s. They had two more children while living in Tacoma, WA. In 1961 Edward began working for IGA Foods in Milton and finished a 32-year long career as a Produce Manager. Edward enjoyed spending time with his family camping, working in his yard, carpentry, watching television game shows, and socializing. It wasn’t uncommon to see him visiting his neighbors while driving his electric scooter into his 90’s. His most precious moments included those times spent on road trips with his family, landscaping and spending time in his workshop. Edward was preceded in death by his wife, son, mother and father, his 3 brothers, 2 sisters, and other relatives. He is survived by four children, seven grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren, and other relatives.
Funeral Services will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home and cemetery on October 29th at 11:00 a.m. Flowers may be sent to the funeral home and messages of Sympathy may be sent to the family online at www.mountainviewtacoma.com/obituaries
