Edith M. Delzell's Obituary
Edith Mae Delzell passed away on November 9, 2012 in Tacoma, WA, at age 85. She was born on May 13, 1927 in Redmond, WA, to Chester and Katherine Lewis. She is survived by her husband of nearly 67 years, Athol Hugh Delzell (married December 9, 1945); her sons David, Don and Kevin; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandson. She is also survived by her siblings Barbara Reed (née Lewis), Chester Lewis Jr., and Thomas Lewis, who all reside in Redmond, WA; and Helen Hodgins (née Lewis), who resides in Arlington, WA. Edith loved the outdoors and was an avid hiker, backpacker and skier. She was active in the Tacoma Mountaineers, Altrusa and the Pierce County Retired Teachers Association, for which she acted as treasurer for several years. Viewing will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home in Tacoma on Wednesday, November 14, from 1:00 to 4:00PM. Burial and a graveside service will be held for family and guests on November 15 from 1:00PM to 2:00PM at Cedar Lawns Memorial Park Chapel in Redmond. Viewing at the on-site chapel will be from 10:00AM to Noon. A memorial will be held soon after at the Tacoma Mountaineer Clubhouse.
