Edith Marjorie Austin's Obituary
Edith Marjorie Austin (Ryerson), was born in Algona, WA on November 22, 1923. She went to her eternal sleep on April 23, 2015 in her home of 67 years. She will be reunited with love of her life, her husband, Virgil (Speed) Austin, her son Donald, and her brother Martin who she helped raise.
Edith is survived by three children, Marjorie Goff, Kenneth Austin, and Sharon Wirtz. She was a very proud, involved, always available grandmother and leaves a loving legacy of 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
She was a lifetime member of the Lakewood Moose Lodge #1865 which she with her husband Speed helped establish; here they made many good and lifelong friends.
Edith always had an open heart, an open door, and food and coffee ready for family and friends. Her children's friends called her "Mom" and always knew they could find a meal, a hug and a ready welcome even after her own children moved out.
One of her happiest moments was being able to yell "BINGO" or hitting the slots at the casinos.
