Ed Hooper's Obituary
Edward Hooper was born March 8, 1948, and passed August 20, 2025, of natural causes after a long battle with COPD and dementia.
Edward was born in Aberdeen, WA, to Dean and Lena Hooper (Lynn). He attended Montesano High School in Montesano, WA, graduating in 1967. Right after graduating, he was drafted into the United States Army for the Vietnam War.
Edward made a career in the Army, serving 20 years. Afterward, he worked as a mechanic for the Department of Logistics.
He married Sharlene Hooper (Kaufman) in 1979. Together they had three daughters. Edward had another daughter from a previous marriage. Together, he and Sharlene took in more family—another daughter and grandchildren.
Edward was a hard worker who provided for his family. When he got home from work, he would normally do outdoor activities such as yard work or throwing the frisbee around with his kids and the neighbor kids. He loved camping, watching old westerns, or having the History Channel on repeat.
Edward is preceded in death by both of his parents, his younger brothers Billy Hooper and Randy Hooper, and his wife Sharlene Hooper. He is survived by his five daughters: Sandy McGinnis, Kelly Warren, Kassondra Barrow, Kirstyn Soderberg, and Kelsey (Dylan) Holland. His grandchildren: DeVanie, Amanda, Elisiah, Nicholas, William, Spencer, Autumn, Olivia, Kaeden, Neela, Christopher, and Brooke. Also, three great-grandchildren: Brody, Taylor, and Ellee.
Edward had many friends at work and around the neighborhood. He was always laughing and joking, telling wild stories of his past—like how he used to be a rodeo rider. He enjoyed his time with the rodeo, riding bulls and horses.
Edward will forever be missed. His spicy and stubborn personality will live on with all of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. I hope you're at peace and you are flying high.
