Earl H. Williams' Obituary
Earl H. Williams passed peacefully on December 19, 2023 at the age of 92. Earl shared 68 of those years with his wife and best friend, Joan. He honored her wish to die in their Fircrest home by being her care giver for the last seven years of her life. He embraced his own death with joy knowing he would be with his beloved wife again. Earl was kind, funny, intelligent and a devoted father. He treated everyone with respect and acceptance believing every person had the right to love who they want and live peacefully. He worked hard, made the bed every day, picked up after himself and found good conversation and romance while doing the dishes with his wife. He was the perfect husband and father. Our angel on earth, showing the many ways a man loves his family.
Earl was born and raised in southern California. He enlisted in the Army as a teen and was stationed at Fort Lewis for basic training. He met the love of his life at the Tacoma Roller Bowl on South Tacoma Way. They married just before he was sent to fight in the Korean War. He spent most of his work life in Tacoma with Washington Natural Gas, working his way up from a meter reader to a service manager and instructor before he retired.
Earl is survived by two daughters, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and his favorite son in law. He will be missed every day. In his honor, tell a good joke today and make someone laugh. And always try to be kind.
