Earl Lamson's Obituary
Earl was born October 8, 1914, in Yakima, WA and passed away October 25, 2012 in Tacoma. He was born to Earl W. Lamson and Catherine Wagner (Burdick). He married Geneva McDaniel in 1937 while working in Yakima where he graduated from H.S. He then moved with family consisting of Geneva, daughter Margaret, and young Dennis to Tacoma where he was employed at McChord Air Base beginning in 1942 as an aircraft mechanic for the Department of Defense. Another move was made when they moved into their first new home at So. 8th and Rochester, and years later another move to No. 9th and Stevens where 2nd son Edward was born. Upon retirement in 1973 he moved with his new wife, Claudia Canning (Carlson), to Roy, WA, where he developed Royal Oaks Mobile Home Park, sold it and moved across the street to a new home and settled where he could do his farming. Farming was the history of his family from Iowa to Canada, Yakima, and now, Roy. He continued with farming as long as he could, surviving at home as long as possible with caregivers until his final move after his birthday, back to Tacoma. He was predeceased by wife Geneva G., in 1968, wife Claudia O., in 2009, and son Edward D., in 2010. He is survived by daughter Margaret J. Smith of Tacoma, and son Dennis L. Lamson of Ellensburg, WA, grandchildren Caryn Lamson and Casey Lamson, Barbara Smith (Kranitz), Ronald Smith, James Smith, and eight great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Roy Food Bank.
