Earl A. Grocott's Obituary
Earl A. Grocott, 89, passed away peacefully into the arms of his heavenly Father on October 14, 2014 in Tacoma, WA. He was born on September 18, 1925 in Aberdeen, WA to Randolph A. and Westanna (Lane) Grocott.
Earl worked for many years as a Deputy Sheriff for Stanislaus County, California. He enjoyed bicycling, golfing, panning for gold, long walks, volunteering at the Rescue Mission and being part of the Masons. He will forever be remembered as a calm, peaceful man who was never in a hurry and loved the simpler things in life. His happiest moments were the times he spent sitting alongside a road in his folding chair, straw hat covering his head, a cold one in his hand, looking out over an Arizona desert scene. We will miss and love you always.
He is survived by his wife Kay Grocott (Dad’s Angel); daughter Betty Cournoyer; son John (Jayne) Grocott; sisters Shirley Bursell and Sharon Mack; grandchildren Craig (Terrie) Cournoyer, Ted Cournoyer, Samantha (Brandon) Russell, Lauren (Mason) Moore, Sarah (Casey) Wynhoff, Jonathan Earl Grocott and Luke Grocott; great-grandchildren Jacob Cournoyer, Kaleigh Cournoyer, James Russell, Sarah Moore, Mason Moore Jr. and David Wynhoff. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Joann, brothers Randy, Armand and Clarance.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2pm, Friday, October 24, 2014 at the Life Center Gray Chapel, 1717 S Union Ave, Tacoma, WA.
