Earl Alstead's Obituary
Earl was a lifelong resident of Tacoma, WA, and was the youngest son of Peter and Gustava Alstead. He graduated from Lincoln High School, and proudly served as a naval pilot in WWII. He was married to Jean Alstead for 64 years until her passing. He had two children, Christopher Alstead (deceased) and surviving daughter Lynne (Alstead) Adam.
He was very proud of his 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, and "cheered them on" from the bleachers or in spirit. He was an electrician by trade, a fisherman for relaxation, and, in his words, a golfer for frustration! Earl will be greatly missed by his daughter, family, friends, and wonderful neighbors who helped him greatly in his later years. He fought dementia with dignity, and never lost his sense of humor. He will be carried to his final resting place by his beloved grandsons, Dr. David Adam, Brian Adam, Justin Adam, and Christopher Adam. Cherished granddaughter Christina (Alstead) Dilley will also share memories of "gramps".
This graveside service will be at Mountain View Funeral Home in Tacoma on Feb. 1st, 2013 at 1:30pm.
