I and many of my freinds/buddies from Sherman Grade School,Mason Jr. High School and Wilson High School have very fond memories of Earl. From 1957-1959 Earl provided us with the opportunity to play football with each other in our neighborhood for UNIPAC. In 1960 he provided us a place to play basketball at Mason Methodist. Earl always treated us with respect and kindness but he certainly provided authority. Each of us without knowing it at the time were influenced in our movement to adulthood by a special man a little younger and we thought more in touch than our our fathers. Thank you Earl. Dear Susie, Andy, Mac and Brian (and families):
Your mom and dad were such an integral part of my family's lives that it is with great sadness that I'm writing this. Julie told me the news as I was on my way out of town for an extended weekend, and felt heartbroken that I would not be able to attend his service on Monday!
Earl was like a father to me growing up and I'll always remember the guidance, encouragement, support and friendship he gave me both as a child and throughout my adult years. There are so many great memories I have of him (and your mom), and I will truly miss him! His smile will will never be forgotten!

My thoughts are with you as a family. You have suffered a terrific loss now and when Sally died. Ironically, we have been neighbors for many years--once 35 years ago on Frace St. and now again in our retirement years.
