I worked with Duane at ASIG nearly 13 years. In that time we worked together servicing airplanes at Alaska, American to name a few. I knew Duane best for his many years as the Lead Fueler for the fine folks at American Airlines. Though Duane, I learned the ropes and became qualified on the American account. Duane always told me if you work with the customers, they will work with you. To this day I cherish my rapport with Alaska and American Airlines in SEA. Thank you Duane.
Since Duane was a senior employee he would sit down at the union negotiations table with me and the other shop steward when we negotiated contracts with the company. At the time Duane was going on 14 years with the company, but had to wait another 2 years to get an extra weeks vacation. We negotiated and the company agreed to change the the policy so at 14 years Duane got an extra weeks vacation.
When I came back to work from a wrist injury in January 2005, I spent time working with Duane at United Airlines. He taught me the ropes and again he reminded me that if work with the people they will work with you and make your day go smoother. It never failed to amaze me how after twenty years Duane got along with everyone, everywhere. Well I know now that God has got some work planned for Duane and I know he'll do a good job. Duane will get God's house in order and running smoothly. Duane, May the Peace of Our Lord Be Always With You and Your Family. I'm going to miss you buddy.##imported-begin##Bob Pensworth##imported-end##
