Duane Lincoln Koesel's Obituary
Duane Lincoln Koesel passed away after an accident on August 29th 2023 at the age of 87. He was surrounded by loving children at the time of his passing.
Duane was born to Albert Henry Koesel and Vera Emelia (Barlund) Koesel on Feb. 12, 1936 in Bismark North Dakota, he graduated from Aneheim high school in Aneheim, California and promptly embarked on an exciting months long European tour. Duane later joined the United States Air Force where he would go on to serve multiple tours both on active duty and as a member of the Air Force Reserves. Duane had a distinguished 37 year career as a jet propulsion mechanic and retired from civil service in 1994.
Duane married Patricia Vivian Hammonds and they had 5 children, they remained husband and wife until her passing in 1995. Duane was warmly welcomed into the Hooper family when he married Elsa Hooper in 1997. They enjoyed several years together until her passing in 2014.
Duane loved to travel and visit family and he was always up for an adventure. He loved to go the movies. He enjoyed reading paperback western novels and was an avid and accomplished gardner who created many beautiful gardens over the years that his family very much enjoyed. We will miss him greatly and treasure all our memories.
Duane is survived by his children Kurt (Theresa) Koesel of Mukilteo, WA, Tamaira (George) Muncy of Jackson, OH, Cassandra (Wi) Kim of Puyallup, WA, Brandon ( Jennifer) Koesel of Eatonville, WA, Micah Koesel of Tacoma WA as well as 12 Grand children and 23 Great Grand children.
Per his wishes, there will be a simple memorial service for Duane on Sept 8th at 10AM in the Aspen Chapel with visitation after at 11:00AM at Mountain View Memorial Park 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood WA. 98499
A graveside service will be held on Friday September 15th at 10:30 AM at the same location
