Donald E. Brown passed away peacefully on Nov. 4th after a brief battle with cancer. He was 83 years old. Don was born on Oct. 8, 1922 at the family home in Tacoma, the 4th child of Alpharetta and Harry Brown, founder of Brown & H Read Obituary

I will miss seeing you on my annual trips to Kona. It just won't be the same without Don, whether it's playing golf, hitting the beach or just having a meal downtown. Don was a wonderful man with a huge heart. He will be so missed by all. I hope you will continue to visit your many friends in Hawaii.

My condolences to the family of Dr. Brown. I was one of his many patients at the Doctors' Clinic in Lynnwood. My niece and nephew were delivered by him in 1969 and 1971. He was such a great doctor who really showed his compassion for his patients. When my mother was strickened with Parkinson's Disease and she was having some rough days, he would find time to stop by our house on his way home from the clinic. Our family was so grateful for that since home visits were almost unheard of at that time. So, I am saddened by the news of Dr. Brown's death, but do want the family to know that his great warmth and caring as a doctor are a tremendous legacy to leave behind. I just want to say how much I respected and admired Don. I met Don about 10 years ago on a fishing trip to Canada and we have been going every summer since that time. I was saddened to read of the passing of Dr. Brown. At the same time it gave me the opportunity to reflect on many memories I have from growing up. Dr. Brown delivered me in 1965. I can remember him through my visits to the Dr.'s office in Lynnwood through my growing up years. He was also the one to inform me of the pregnancy of my first child. He was gracious enough to direct me to a new clinic because he would soon be retiring. One of my fondest memories is of when my father was ill and suffering from many ailments and even though it was uncommon Dr. Brown would make house calls to check on my dad and make sure that the rest of our family was doing well. He was such a caring and compassionate man. Iam so grateful for his service and compassion as a physician and a friend. Dr. Brown delivered me in 1959 and was my doctor all my young life, seeing me through my childhood traumas, dieseases and growing pains up until his retirement. I adored the man and looked up to him like a father. When I think of him, I can still hear his good hearted teasing which never failed to turn my complexion 3 shades of red.
I guess I always thought of him as immortal and am saddened by his passing though heartened by knowing he enjoyed a wonderfully full and long retirement.
God bless you Dr. Brown where ever you are and God bless and keep your family. I am a better person (and healthier!) for you having been a major part of my formative years. I have some wonderful memories of you Sir. Thank you for your ever-present tenderness, kindnesses and caring, there whenever I needed it. I can only hope we'll meet again someday.

The special times on Lopez Island and Friday Harbor will be remembered - especially the baby birds on your boat - the 3 par golf course at your house- the crab feed - I could go on and on - but all wonderful memories that will be cherished forever -

Dr. Brown was my doctor from birth until I was 17, which was the year he retired. He was a true professional and a caring doctor. He went out of his way to make the most unpleasant of appointments comfortable. I strive to treat my own clients as well as he treated me. My condolences to the family.
