Douglas Daniel Nervik's Obituary
Douglas Daniel Nervik passed away on Tuesday March 3, 2020. He was born July 25, 1933 in Tacoma, WA to his parents Lucille Aileen (Eggimann) and George Douglas Nervik. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Barbara (Yakes), whom he was married to for 50 years. He is survived by his children George E. Nervik and Barbara A. Provoe (Jeffrey R. Provoe). A sister; Nancy Felton. Four granddaughters; Meagan K. Renick, Jamie A. Olivares, Anna K. Provoe, and Barbara A. Provoe. Three great grandchildren; Michaela K. Renick, Alejandro M. Olivares, and Ryan “Douglas” Olivares. Dad served his country in the Navy and then married our mother 12 days after he was out. He had careers starting with tree planting, then as a union carpenter and finally a home building contractor. He enjoyed fishing, boating, but most importantly being with family and friends. Services will be March 11, 2020 at 1:30pm at Mountain View Memorial Park in Lakewood, WA. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to send a remembrance may donate to St. Judes Children’s Hospital as it was Douglas’s favorite charity and he believed in their good works. Refreshments will follow the service at his granddaughter Jamie Olivares new home.
