Douglas Morgan DeLong's Obituary
Douglas Morgan DeLong, son of the late Robert L. and Annette M. DeLong of Tacoma, passed away April 4, 2003 at his home in Puyallup. Born December 2, 1946, Doug was a graduate of Charles Wright Academy and Pacific Lutheran University. He went on to work for Puget Sound National Bank (now Key Bank), ultimately as branch manager at Normandy Park and Tumwater.His special interests included antiques, Husky Football, coin collecting, and family history. The latter sparked his continuing research into the families of his late paternal grandfather, Walter L. DeLong who headed St. Regis Paper Co. of Tacoma in the 1940Â's, and his maternal great grandfather Benjamin H. Morgan, a Snohomish pioneer. Doug also enjoyed taking family and friends in his 1964 Buick Wildcat convertible, which was occasionally used in parades.A very warm, special person, Doug will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him. Survivors include his aunt, Pat Barton, Renton; cousins, John F. Barton, Seattle, Gregory F. Barton, Tacoma, Scott D. Barton, Everett, and Annette Barton, Seattle; as well as nieces Leslie Delong, Port Townsend, Shannon DeLong, Tacoma and nephew Christopher DeLong, Seattle.Memorials in DougÂ's memory may be made to your favorite charity. The family wishes to thank you in advance.Services will be held at 1pm Monday, April 14, 2003 in the Mt. View Garden Chapel, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Tacoma.
