Doug Murray's Obituary
Douglas “Doug” Murray, 89, of Edmonds, Washington, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026. Born and raised in the Seattle area, Doug called the Pacific Northwest home for his entire life.
A proud graduate of Roosevelt High School, Doug embarked on a lifelong career driving trucks for Yellow Freight. His strong work ethic, reliability, and dedication made him a trusted and well‑respected colleague throughout his many years on the road.
Doug is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Patty Murray, and their son, Brian Murray of Camano Island. His family was the center of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Known for his wonderful sense of humor and quick wit, Doug brought laughter and lightness into every room he entered. He carried a lifelong love affair with anything on wheels—cars especially. Whether he was driving them, fixing them, or simply talking about them, Doug found joy in every rev of an engine. His passion extended to snowmobiling, dirt biking, and nearly any outdoor adventure that was fast, daring, or just a little bit dangerous.
Doug will be remembered for the warmth of his smile, the twinkle in his eye when he told a story, and the zest for life that he never outgrew. His legacy lives on in the memories shared by family and friends who loved him dearly.
May he rest in peace.
