Doug Jones' Obituary
Douglas Lee Jones, 58, of Tacoma, Washington, passed away on May 30, 2026.
Doug was a devoted husband and father who deeply loved his family. His children were his greatest source of pride. He never missed an opportunity to support, encourage, and cheer them on in whatever they pursued. Anyone who spent time with him knew how much they meant to him.
Doug enjoyed getting to know people and had a gift for making connections and finding common ground with others.
After working for State Farm Corporate, Doug became a State Farm Agent, a role he held for more than 21 years. He enjoyed meeting people and built many lasting relationships throughout his career.
Doug enjoyed anything related to Star Wars, restoring classic arcade games, 3D printing, cooking, and grilling. Whether he was restoring a Pac-Man arcade game, creating an eight-foot K-2SO, or grilling for a large crowd, Doug enjoyed bringing people together. He took pride in doing things well and loved sharing what he created with others.
Doug is survived by his beloved wife, Salina; his children, Jasmine, Jaela, Janessa, and Jaxson; his mother, Marsha Knore; his father, Larry Jones and wife Joanie; and his sisters, Julie Nunley, Darcy Knore, Kimberleigh Anderson, and Jennifer Summit.
A viewing will be held at St. Patrick Church on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. A reception will immediately follow the service. Burial will take place at 2:30 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery.
Doug’s absence leaves a hole in the lives of those who loved him that can never be filled. The loss of Doug is immeasurable. His family will forever miss his voice, his humor, his ideas, his encouragement, and the countless ways he made life better simply by being part of it. While they will carry his love, lessons, and memories with them always, there is no replacing the husband, father, friend, and one-of-a-kind person they have lost.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Fred Hutch Cancer Center in Doug’s memory or contribute to his family's GoFundMe.
