Dorthy Wright's Obituary
Dorothy peacefully passed away April 1, 2013. She was born April 26, 1931 in Jacksonville, AL to William and Eleanor Blackwell; raised by her grandparents Fielding and Mary Green. After marrying Arnold and living in many states and in Europe, they settled in Lakewood, WA in 1975. Dorothy leaves to cherish in her memory her husband Arnold of 52 years, daughter Sygrid Wright, son Ronald Wright (Deana), grandchildren Kohl, Sierra, and Sydney Wright, and sisters Bobbye Jean Duckworth (Robert), Betty Thomas, and Sylvia Rowe. Her family was her priority and her grandchildren the light of her life. She was a virtuous and righteous wife, mother, and grandmother. She retired from Clover Park School District in 1995 after teaching 38 years.
Dorothy graduated from Tuskegee Institute, was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, attended church regularly, and enjoyed working in her garden, volunteering, and helping others. Her family wishes to express gratitude to her caregivers at Kindred Rehabilitation and Patriots Landing. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 6th, 2013 at 4:00 pm at Mountain View Funeral Home, Lakewood, WA. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer's Research Association or the charity of your choice .
