Dorothy May Hollinger's Obituary
Dorothy was born in Missoula, Montana on November 2, 1910, died Thursday, March 2, 2006 surrounded by her family. Dorothy moved to Tacoma in 1922 where she resided in her own home until 2 1/2 years ago when she moved in with her son and his wife. Dorothy retired as an LPN from Madigan Army Hospital in December of 1975. Even until her death Dorothy was independent strong willed and still an active member of the Eagles, Navy Mothers, VFW Auxiliary, Visitation and St. Leos Catholic Churches.Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and a brother. She is survived by her son Edward Dugan (Gordene) of Tacoma, daughter Patricia Ann Hollifield of Thomasville, NC, 8 grandchildren Caron Muchmore (Scott) of Orting, Cathy Banks, of Newport, NC, Vince Dugan of Auburn, Jimmy Clewis (Debbie) of Trinity, NC, Lynn McEntire of High Point, NC, Patrick Dugan of Seattle, Chris Clewis of Randelman, NC, and Kevin Dugan (Tera) of Tacoma, WA, 15 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren and her "4-legged" best friend Molly.The family would like to thank Candy for her loving kindness and caregiving of Dorothy.Viewing will be from 12:00pm to 9:00pm on Friday March 10, 2006 at MountainView Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, March 11, 2006 in the Mountain View Celebration of Life Center, with a graveside following.A potluck celebration of DorothyÂ's life will be held after the graveside services at the South Tacoma Eagles Club at 72nd and Pine.
