Dorothy Kapphahn's Obituary
Dorothy was born in Bertha, MN on March 5, 1916 to Walter and Elizabeth Kapphahn. The family, which included her brother Kenneth, moved to the Tacoma area in 1917. She was a graduate of Pacific Lutheran College and taught in the Kapowsin/Bethel school district from 1945 until her retirement in 1977. Dorothy enjoyed teaching the home arts and her enthusiasm for arts and crafts continued into her retirement years. Many friends and relatives have received gifts made by her. She also made dolls to add to her collection. The last nineteen years Dorothy lived at the Narrows Glen where she was usually seen with her little dog Pekoe or Perita. She was also a member on Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Dorothy passed away on January 15, 2011 at the age of 94. Predeceased by her parents and brother, she leaves many cousins who will miss her.
