Dorothy B. Johnson's Obituary
Dorothy passed away peacefully after a short hospital stay following open heart surgery. Dort was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great friend to many. She loved to play and lived life to the fullest extent. She grew up in Spokane, WA where she had a large and loving extended family and many lifelong friends. She went on to attend the University of Washington where she met her husband of 45 years Sandy. While at the U, Dort and Sandy made many life long friends including the Wiborgs and the Swaneses.
She was preceded in death by Sandy in 1996. She is survived by her bother Bob (Marion), her four children- Clarke (Cindy), Randy (Debbie), Peggy Lachner (Pete), and Marty (Jeanne) and her 12 grandchildren.
Dort and Sandy eventually settled in the 5 Views neighborhood of Tacoma and became founding members of "The Hill Gang." She loved water and snow skiing and attending all sorts of athletic events(Husky Football), but most of all she enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in various sports from YMCA basketball to sports at the college level.
A celebration of her life will be held at Fircrest Golf Club 1500 Regents Blvd Fircrest, WA on Sunday April 18th from 2-5pm. Memorial donations can be sent to the Dorothy B Johnson Fund c/o Apple Physical Therapy Foundation at 2904 4th Ave NE Puyallup, WA 98372.
