Doris Allyene Patton Seago, of Tacoma, died peacefully in her sleep Sept. 6. God granted her 93 years of purposeful and fruitful life, each day a certainty of God's blessing. Doris had two great vocations in life. One was serving Read Obituary
I had the pleasure of riding in the back seat of a car with Doris as we traveled from Olympia to Kennewick. Dawn and Jon were pilot and co-pilot so Doris and I chatted about the "Good old days". It was a wonderful trip and the time passed so quickly. Too bad we could not have made another one. We had several conversations over the years as I visited her in Lacey. She will be missed, but has gone to her home in heaven.

We served with Andy and Doris at Nine Lakes Baptist Church in the 70’s and at Mt Baker Baptist Camp. Doris often led the Morning Sessions. We loved her and know she is with Andy in one of the places Jesus prepared for them, as he promised in John 14:2-3
Praise God there is room for all of us if we place our faith in Jesus for salvation John 3:16-18

My condolences to the Seago family members. I well remember Mrs. Seago from my days at Fife Junior and Senior High School, but I was too shy to consider purposefully taking a speech class or being on the debate team--certainly her notable strengths as a teacher and coach. I am sure that many have been blessed through her presence and her sharing of the source of her light over the years.
It was my privilege to have Mrs. Seago for both English and Speech classes. She was also my debate coach all four years. It is because of her that I have been able to speak in front of small and large groups during my varied career these past 51 years. She was always supportive of us as students and as debaters; always creating in us the desire to do more, to be more. I know she will continue to teach English and Speech in heaven and, look out angels, she will be starting a debate team, too. Rest in peace, Mrs. Seago.
I am truly sorry to hear of the loss of Doris. Please accept my condolences to one of my Favorite Fife High School teachers. In addition I really enjoyed talking with Doris over the past 15 years after I found out "we" were on the same "Vermillion Genealogy Family Tree". I always got a kick when Doris referred to me as a "shirt tail relative". We always had a laugh when I kept saying I wish she knew we were related when I had her for Freshman English and High School speech class. May God give you the comfort and peace that you seek and may the soul of Doris rest in peace.
