Doris Cruz Perez's Obituary
Doris C. Perez, 69 years of age, gained her angel wings on August 4, 2022, at Good Samaritan
Hospital in Puyallup, WA. Doris was born on February 4, 1953, at Santa Rita, Guam to the late Vicente & Josefina “Lita” Cruz. She was the fourth of fourteen children: Josephine “Ofing”, Arlene, Yvonne, Vincent Jr, Linda, John, Robert, Debra, Thomas; and four preceding her in death: Maryann, Elizabeth “Ebis”, Joseph, and George.
Doris is survived by her husband, Jose Perez, of 47 years and their seven children: Joselyn (Michael), Corina (Tony), Diana, Jolita (Edwin), April, Vincent and Christopher (Ryan); along with all of her grandchildren: Andrew, Nathaniel, Talia, Alexander - Joselyn; Irie (Trevor), Inina, Isa (Jayven), Rai, Magof, Irensia, Matua, Feh’mani, Fihu, Mai’ana - Corina; Jason, Jacob, Jay – Diana; Morena, Emonni, Kaleigha -Jolita; Skyler, Madison, Audrina, Annabelle - Christopher.
Doris moved from Guam to California in 1967, then moved her family from California to Washington in August 1986. She professed her life to Christ and the Catholic Church at an early age and taught all of her children and grandchildren God’s ways. She started her career in Nursing as a CNA and as a Restorative Aide. Helping people was her passion.
Doris loved spending time with her family, joking around and playing with her children and grandchildren, and cooking for family gatherings. She enjoyed gardening, decorating for every single occasion, shopping, going to Bingo with her mother and carried on their tradition. Her collections are made up of antiques, dolls, and everything customized and handcrafted for grandma.
Doris was also known as “D-Doll” (Doris Doll) by her siblings, “Darling”, by her husband and “Mama Doris” by her children, grandchildren, godchildren, nieces, and nephews.
