Doris M. Clarke's Obituary
Doris Maria Clarke passed away peacefully on September 21, 2016 surrounded by her family. Doris was born in Berlin, Germany on March 22, 1940. She met the love of her life, Leon Edward Clarke, in 1961 when she was a University student in Giessen, Germany. She quickly fell in love with the handsome young American soldier. They were soon married in Germany and moved to Tacoma in 1963 where they raised three wonderful daughters.
Doris loved flowers and enjoyed spending time in her garden. She was a big sports fan and especially loved the Seahawks and the Golden State Warriors. She also was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her cat, Beau. Most importantly, she loved her friends, family and was an especially devoted Oma. She will be remembered for her friendliness, kindness, intelligence and sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leon, in 2011, and her parents and siblings in Germany. Doris is survived by three daughters, Tammy (Richard) Guerra, Shawna (Greg) Lamothe, Michelle (Warren) Hubble; grandsons Miles and Ethan; many cherished relatives in Germany, many dear friends and her beloved cat Beau.
An informal celebration of life gathering will be held starting at 1:00p.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2016.
