Donna Lee Maas' Obituary
Mr. Â"JimmyÂ" peacefully answered the call from his maker to come home on Friday, August 26, 2005 after a brief battle with lung cancer.Born March 19, 1928 in Cordova, Alabama to the late Dazlee and Jim Hendricks, Herman was the 5th of 14 children. He confessed Christ at an early age becoming a member of St. James CME Church. Attended Walker Country Training School, graduating in 1947. Enlisted in the US Army October 1950. Retired in December 1974 after serving his country for 24 years, 1 month and 14 days. After retiring from the military he worked for Hygrade Meats in Tacoma.Preceded in death by his parents, sisters Hazel Hendricks and Betty Anderson; brothers James, Robert and George. Survived by brothers Charles, Marion, Dino and Donald; sisters Raydonia Benjamin, Mary Ann Belser, Joyce Ann Black, Jimmie Lee and Cynthia Hendricks.At his request a Memorial Fund will be set up in his name with memorials going to the American Cancer Society.Viewing will be 1pm-9pm TODAY, August 31 at Mountain View Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 1, 2005 in the Mt. View Valley Chapel.
