Donna Kay Washut
1939 - 2009
Our Mom, Donna, passed away on October 8, 2009. Born in Buffalo, Wyoming on June 20, 1939, the only child of Joe and Irene Washut, Donna spent her early years in Wyoming and moved to Tacoma when she was 12. Donna attended Jason Lee Jr. High and graduated from Stadium High School in 1957, then went on to attend Central Washington University. Donna married Matt Olson and had 4 children. Donna worked 16 years for the Automotive Service Association of Tacoma, and retired in January 2008. Donna was kind, generous, witty and caring, she made friends wherever she went, and her family was the most important thing in her life and she made that very clear to them and to all who knew her. Donna loved life and lived her life to its fullest. Donna passed away suddenly but peacefully, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. We will forever be grateful for the time spent with her, and she will never be forgotten. Donna is survived by her 4 children, Steve Olson of Graham, Jeff Olson of Spanaway, Todd Olson (Dee Dee) of Puyallup, and Laura Thompson (Page) of Roy, 12 grandchildren, Keith, Bobby, Ashley, Brooke, Nathan, Lindsey, Katie, Kaylee, Amber, Cody, Christopher and Lisa, and 2 great-grandchildren, Emily and Justin. Donna was blessed to share her life with her best friend Karin Goodro of Tacoma for over 55 years. Donna also leaves behind many close friends and co-workers whose lives she affected in so many positive ways. A celebration of life will be held on November 1, 2009 at 2:00 pm at the Tacoma Yacht Club. Interment to be held on November 2 at 10:30 am at Mountain View Funeral Home.
