Donna Hartsell's Obituary
Donna Marie Hartsell came into this world on May 24, 1954 at Puget Sound Hospital in Tacoma, WA. She was the second child born to Mary Trudnich Hartsell (deceased) and Van Hartsell (deceased). She passed away peacefully on November 7, 2018 after a lifetime of illness. She is survived by her daughter, Mindy Barry Karaoulanis, son-in-law Sean Barry, granddaughters Sloane and Sasha Barry, partner of over 40 years, Melvin Walden, siblings Debra and David Hartsell and many nieces, nephews, and family friends.
Donna spent nearly her whole life in Tacoma. She was a devoted daughter to her mother, a lover of dogs (especially Pomeranians) and an avid fan of crime and western programs. She was generous to a fault, and enjoyed spending time with her brother and sister. Prior to her illnesses progression she loved to swim and read. Although she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age 10, she tried not to let it define her, keeping her sense of humor and living HER life HER way.
The last few years of Donna’s life were difficult, however, she pushed through and seldom complained. She was a fighter and the definition of a true survivor. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
