Donald Glenn Winnie's Obituary
Donald G. Winnie Born 9-21-1925 in Lind, Washington to Clayton and Lizzie Winnie, passed away 2-27-2016. He's survived by wife Shirley, sons Stephen and Stuart (Phyllis Arnold), daughter Cherie Miller, 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandsons and sisters Sally Hallis and Linda Newman (Mike).
He was one of 7 siblings. Donald served in the US navy on destroyer escort DE 800 US Wilke in the North Atlantic and retired from McChord AFB commissary. He and Shirley made many trips with Wilke members. He belonged to the VFW and NARFE and enjoyed casino trips with Pau Hana, Friday breakfasts and morning donuts with friends. He was a loving family man, leaving behind many friends, and will be truly missed.
He requested no service and was cremated. A gathering celebrating his life will follow later. -
