Donald Lee Stanton
January 11, 1952 – July 11, 2013
A family graveside service will be held for Donald Stanton, 61, at Mountain View Memorial Park in Lakewood, Washington on Saturday July 20th. A celebration of life will follow at 1:00 at the Countrydale Modbile Home Estates at 12313 123rd Street Court E, Puyallup, 98374. Friends and family are welcome.
Don was born on January 11, 1952 in Tacoma, Washington, the 2nd son of Lawrence “Larry” and Kathleen “Kay” Stanton. He passed away on July 11th , after a courageous battle with cancer, in Sea Tac, Washington.
Don retired from Boeing in 2012, as a machinist, after 23+ years with the company. Don was proud of his work and made many great friends during that time.
Don was a true lover of the outdoors. His hobbies included fishing, crabbing and clamming on the coast, camping, bowling and vintage cars, owning many throughout his years. Don was a gentle and caring soul. He lost his best friend and brother, Michael “Mike” to cancer one year ago, but remained the “surrogate father” to his nieces, Rachel, Katy and Ashley. He also had a special place in his heart for his nephew, Robert “Bobby” Stanton.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, and brother, Mike. Don is survived by his sister, Cheryl Garrett and husband, Don of Coos Bay , Oregon and her children. Also survived by Aunts and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Our heartfelt thanks to Providence Hospice of Seattle, for all their help and caring during Don’s illness.
