Donald Rodney Williams' Obituary
Don Williams was born February 19, 1922, in Yakima, WA, and died November 8, 2010 in Lakewood, WA. Don served with the Marine Corps in World War II and the Army in the Korean War and Vietnam. He retired as an Army Colonel in 1972 after 29 years of military service. After retiring, Don worked as a vocational counselor for the Veterans Administration, and he was a member of Lake City Community Church for over 30 years. He and his wife Marguerite were active in missions and volunteering. Don enjoyed fishing, gardening and bowling. He had a grand sense of humor and loved to make friends. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Marguerite Young Williams, four children, his sister Linda Zweigle, eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 10 am on Saturday November 13 at Lake City Community Church, 8810 Lawndale Ave SW, Lakewood 98498, (253) 582-8040.
