Donald Redford's Obituary
He was born to Kenneth and June Redford January 14th, 1943, raised in Tacoma, WA and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1963.
He was married to Linda Meyer October 10th 1964 and moved to Buckley, WA. Donald worked hard his entire life, finally retiring from Rainier State School as an Attendant Counselor and as a bus driver for Enumclaw School District. After retirement he drove a shuttle bus for Muckleshoot Casino.
Donald was proceeded in death by his wife of 52 years, Linda; and his brother Darrel Redford.
He is survived by his sister, Gail (Bill) Rocheleau, sister-in-law Martha Redford; five children, Anna (Troy) Clark, Tina Redford, Steven (Taneka) Redford, Penny Roberts (Jeff Scheffer), and Paul Redford (Rachael Mark); seven grandchildren, Melissa (Kyle) Schrader, Brice Roberts, Brittanie Roberts, Erin Redford, Ryan Redford, Jessica Clark, Bucklee Scheffer; and one great-grandson, Kyson Schrader.
Family was important to Donald and if you were a friend, you were considered family. He enjoyed making memories at his favorite places, the Ocean, Sul-duc and Kah-Nee-Ta hot springs. He was always up for a game of cribbage or poker. Always ready to pull the next prank, he loved a good laugh and water fights (sometimes IN the house).
His cancer did not win, it was more of a draw, an agreed understanding that he would stay with us long enough to meet his great grandson and great grandnephew before his passing. He did. Although the last year was hard, it also was a gift, a chance to get to know him better that we will be forever thankful for.
His parting words were always “Pray for Snow”. It snowed when he left us. We know he made it back to Mom, knowing that she is in his arms once again gives comfort to those of us he left behind.
Rest in peace Dad, you’ve earned it, we love you.
