Donald H. Shenk's Obituary
Don passed away November 30, 2008 in Puyallup, WA. He was born November 13, 1927, in Erie, PA to Robert and Alma Shenk. He grew up in Erie and graduated from Academy High School. He served in the U.S. Navy at the end of World War II. He received a degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University.
He worked as computer programmer for General Electric/Honeywell in New York, California, Arizona, Colorado, before moving to Pierce County in 1968. He later worked for Pacific First Federal Bank, retiring in 1988.
He was a member of Shepherd of the Hill Presbyterian Church, the Puyallup Elks, and Tacoma Sportsmen's Club.
He is survived by his wife Gayle, son Kenneth of Spanaway, WA. daughter Linda Shenk of Burbank, CA. brother Roger (Donna) of State College, PA. sisters Nancy Crabtree (Ed) of Erie, PA, Betsy Heruska (Mike) of Winston-Salem, NC. brother-in-law Lee (Louella) Kessler of Maple Valley, WA, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 6, 2008 at the Shepherd of the Hill Presbyterian Church, 8401 112th St E, Puyallup, WA
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his name to Shepherd of the Hill Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 73426, Puyallup, WA 98373.
