Don was in a small church group with me, and he kept us all laughing each time we met. My experience of him was that he was genuinely interested in other people; he took every chance he could to pay a compliment; he spoke up when it was important, and he kept quiet when that was more tactful. He lit up -- totally enjoyed himself -- when he made a pun or found a way to add humor to the situation. Whenever I visited him in the hospital or assisted living facilities I came away strengthened by his courage, enlightened by his wisdom, and warmed by his love. Don, I send you a big hug!
