Last week I said goodbye to my life- long friend. We shared so much; the memories seem endless.Our first day together: 3rd grade, Lister elementary, playing marbles at recess. The Davidson family lived right down the street from the Vogt family in Salishan. Years later our families moved to other neighborhoods, but the kids all remained best friends, through LIncoln High School--lots of mischievous fun, graduated. Then Donny and I joined the Navy Sea Bees on the "Buddy Plan" so we could be together--that didn't work and we were separated after boot camp, but again reunited after our tours in Viet Nam. We each got married; I was proud to stand next to Donny as his best man.We each started raising families and working on cars, me mechanics, Donny and Dean in auto body, doing beautiful work. Once they surprised me with a beautiful paint job on my VW. I had been in the hospital for surgery, getting my body fixed, so they decided to fix my car's body. I moved to other states, but we remained friends the rest of their lives. I miss Dean and Donny and the other Davidson boys who have passed. I am thankful for each of the Davidsons and for all we have been for each other.
