Donald Dale's Obituary
Donald L. Dale 2/8/1939 - 4/3/2013
Don went to be with the Lord after passing away peacefully in his wife's arms, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma. He graduated from Stadium High School in 1957, attended UPS and WSU, served in the United States Coast Guard, and retired from the Pierce County Sheriff's Dept. after 28 years of service. Don married Leanne, and they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 25, 2013. Don's family was extremely important to him; he was always willing to help, and putting others' needs ahead of himself.
He is survived by his wife Leanne, children Kevin, Lisa, and Erik, and his precious grandchildren Zach, Mckenzy, Maddie, and Camille, whom he was able to watch become strong, independent young adults. He was so proud of them. The family wishes to thank Dr. Moore, Dr. Chitaley, and the staff of MultiCare Oncology for their compassionate care of Don over the past 39 months. We would also like to thank the nurses on the 6th floor at Tacoma General for caring for Don and our family during his final days. Don attended Olympic View Baptist Church, and we would like to thank them for always holding us up in prayer. Don requested a private family graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, we would like donations to the Pierce County Chaplaincy Program, 6312 19th St. W., Suite C, Tacoma, WA 94666, in Don's memory. We love you - "See you on Tuesday" as you always told us.
