Donald Earl Bunz Jr's Obituary
Donald Earl Bunz Jr., age 73, passed away on January 31, 2024 at Madigan Army Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Donald was born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1950, to the late Donald E Bunz Sr. and Mildred L Lamping.
Donald received his Bachelor's degree at St Martin University and a Master's degree at Chapman University. He was a retired Command Sergeant Major in the US Army and served for the United States for 26 years. After his army career he continued to serve veterans by working at the Veterans Benefits Administration in Seattle, WA. He retired in 2011 to enjoy traveling and spending time with his family.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Song Bunz, his son, Steven Bunz of Puyallup, WA, and his daughter, Kimberly Bunz of Phoenix, AZ. Donald was also a loving grandfather to Damion and Mia Bunz, who brought him joy and laughter. Donald was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Bunz.
Donald leaves behind a legacy of kinship with his siblings: Barbara Boettger, Beverly Busenbark, Bob Bunz, Dick Bunz, Joanne Walde, David Bunz, Thomas Bunz and Mary Gates.
Donald will be remembered by many for his kindness, wisdom and strength.
A service will be held on February 17th at 1 pm at Mountain View Funeral Home, Memorial Park and Crematory in Lakewood, WA in the Garden Chapel followed by Graveside Service at 2:30 pm.
