Don was a great mentor to my dad and also a wonderful friend to my family for many years. We will miss him greatly, but we have many hilarious memories of him.

Don was one of the "Old Sarges" when I began in '76. I remember him as a stable force and a gentleman in the Department. His memory will not fade.##imported-begin##Warren Dogeagle##imported-end##
I worked 25 years for and with Don. Always straight and level.
God bless and may he rest in peace.##imported-begin##Harvey Gibbs##imported-end##
Don was my first Sgt. when I was hired by PCSD. He was always with his pipe, always calm, and always ready to teach and help. He was a friend as well. He will be missed. May he rest in peace.##imported-begin##Bob Hoffman##imported-end##
Don was the one person most responsible for my career with the dept. He was both a friend and a mentor, someone you could always talk to and get advice from. Don was "old school", forthright and down to earth, you always knew where you stood with him. Before he retired he was one of the best officers in the dept. He will be missed.
May God bless him and grant him eternal peace.##imported-begin##Terry L. Wilson##imported-end##
Donald, you are going to be missed. Thanks for the good times we shared. You made my time with Pierce County much more enjoyable. Thanks for being a good friend.##imported-begin##Norm Wiemer##imported-end##
I did not know Don well as he retired shortly after I came to PCSD, but his reputation and many friends throughout the Department were a testimony to me of his life and character. RIP Sgt.##imported-begin##Chaplain Dan Nolta##imported-end##
Don was a terrific person and a wonderful mentor. Working with Don at PCSD was a priviledge. He treated everyone with dignity. He was so consistently solid, and always had time for everyone. He will be missed. Our sympathy and love go out to his loved ones that shared his life.##imported-begin##Curt & Lenore Benson##imported-end##
