Donald A. Bussey's Obituary
Don, cherished husband and father, went to be with his Heavenly Father August 6 from a heart attack at the age of 64. He was surrounded by his loving family and many friends. Don was born November 5, 1943 in Tacoma to Kenneth and Dorothy Bussey. He graduated from Wilson High School and the University of Puget Sound and attended the University of Mexico. At the age of 14, Don fell in love with his junior-high-school sweetheart, Barbara Higgins. They were married in 1967, and were married for 41 years. Barb and Don shared a passion for running and traveling in their RV with friends. Don was a man of integrity with a strong work ethic. Providing for his family was his number one concern. At the time of his death he was employed by the Puyallup School District, and previously worked as an educator and in the grocery field. Don is survived by his wife Barbara, daughter Karla Diaz (Bernardo), granddaughters Kristiana and Nicolette, son Ricardo Leon-Garcia, brother Robert, and many more family members. Celebration of Don's life will be Monday, August 11, 2008 at 1:00pm in the Mountain View Valley Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tacoma Rescue Mission or the Pierce County Humane Society.
