Don Ahrens' Obituary
Don, 85, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2005 in Tacoma, WA. He married Barbara Doyle in 1940 in Whitefish, MT, and they raised a family of four daughters and two sons. Don and his family settled in Tacoma in 1946 where he worked for Kaiser, Kelly-Fergueson, and Port of Tacoma where he retired as Chief Engineer in 1980. He was a proud, lifelong member of BPOE 1450 in Puyallup.Don is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Â"Betty;Â" two sons, Tom and Terry; four daughters, Dorene, Marilyn, Carolyn and Tena; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandaughter; and his brother Wayne Ahrens.Visitation will be from 12:00 Â- 9:00 PM on Wednesday, August 10, 2005, at Mountain View Funeral Home. Services to celebrate DonÂ's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 11, 2005, in the Mountain View Memorial Park Valley Chapel.Memorial contributions may be made to National Elks Foundation, c/o a local lodge.
