Dolores O. Dixon's Obituary
Dolores Orilla Dixon, age 84, passed away on February 20, 2016 in Tacoma, Washington. Dolores “Cookie” was born November 11, 1931 to the late Lloyd and Irene Saxon in Park River, North Dakota. At the age of 13 years old she moved to Tacoma where she attended Jason Lee Middle School and graduated from Stadium High School. Dolores worked for Ben Franklin craft store, Nalley Valley as a pickle packer and eventually dedicated 35 years as a cashier for Safeway, where she traveled to different stores in the Puget Sound area as a trainer.
Dolores enjoyed preparing her famous dishes in the kitchen. Her gift of cooking and baking gave memorable chocolate chip cookies, banana bread and beef stew. She would also spend time gardening and tending to her beautiful roses and dahlia’s.
Cookie was an outstanding mother who was proud of her children. She will be remembered as a hard worker with a big heart who will be deeply missed by many loving family members and friends.
She is survived by her children; Sons, Daniel (Fran), Doug and Drake Dixon and daughter Deborah Gennrich (Gus).
Dolores will be laid to rest at Mountain View Memorial Park in Lakewood, Washington.
By her request, no formal services will be held.
