Dixie Lee Hamilton's Obituary
Born May 9, 1934 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Dixie passed away peacefully on October 10, 2018 in Tacoma, Washington at the age of 84. She graduated from Stadium High School, class of 1952. She was married to Lt. Col. John L. Hamilton for 55 wonderful years. They enjoyed cruises and traveling the states together in their RV. She proudly retired from K-Mart after 10 years of employment.
Dixie’s life revolved around her family. She was a sweet, kind lady with a warm heart who took care of everyone. Cooking was her passion, which she enjoyed immensely. She liked to read, watch her “Soaps” and loved playing Bingo, Bunco and board games with her friends and grandchildren. Her smile, laugh and spirit were contagious.
Proceeded in death by her parents Esta and Clara Farmer, sisters Barbara and Colleen and beloved husband John.
She is survived by her daughter Lisa Hickman (Shane), son John Hamilton Jr. (Margi) and grandchildren Johnny, Logan, Julianna, Melissa, Megann, Richard, Thomas, Steven and 4 great grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed and always loved by her family. Her strength, determination and perseverance will shine inside all of us. She was a fighter to the end, and now at peace. Her touching memories will live on for eternity. We love you Dixie, Mom and Nana.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 27th at 1:00pm at Mountain View Funeral Home, Aspen Chapel in Lakewood. Reception to follow the service. Everyone is invited to journal online sentiments & memories, to the family, here in her guestbook.
