Dixie Kuulei Afoa Aloese's Obituary
In the wake of our Mom and Mama's sudden passing. We have had time to reflect on how precious time and life is. On January 10, 2024 our mom gained her wings.
Our Mom Dixie Kuulei Afoa-Aloese was survived by our dad Finauvale "Moon" Aloese, their 2 biological Children Diamond (Danny) Faumuina and BeeJay Afoa (Elena Quezon), 1 Hanai son, Jorden Afoa. They were blessed to be actively apart of the lives of their 10 grandchildren Heaven, Ho'oheno, Jeremiah, Treasure, Fortunate, Haylee, Cherish, Journey, Tama Malosi and Fashion.
She was born on January 20, 1966 in Honolulu, Hawaii to the late Emily Keawe Hoopii Afoa and Elliott Iofi Afoa Sr. She was #3 of 6 siblings, brothers Elliott Jr (Bula, deceased), Lionel and Malcom. Sisters Glenda and Johanna (deceased). Our mom and dad lived and met in Hawaii. In 2012 they moved to Long Beach, California for 11 years before relocating and retiring in Washington State on March 31, 2023.
Our mom loved Spontaneous adventures, traveling and being in the great outdoors. She was a God fearing woman who wore her heart on her sleeve. She was passionate, caring and dedicated to anybody who needed a hug, prayer, a shoulder to lean on, food to eat or a place to stay. Her Aloha spirit had no boundaries and eventually became known as the Queen of Hospitality.
She loved sports especially if it involved her grandchildren. She was an avid Los Angeles Rams Football fan and Los Angeles Lakers Basketball fan.
She enjoyed planning and leading community events, festivals and outreaches.
Our mom had a servant heart and her most desired service was providing blankets, prayers and feeding the less fortunate especially during the winter holidays.
She always made it a priority to Celebrate any milestone, any occasion, our successes and to be present especially during the holidays.
Love is a bond death cannot part. Sometimes when life seems empty and we feel alone, we discover the importance and kindness of others. Goodbyes hurt the most when the story was not finished. So Thank you for being the love and light in a time when we needed it most.

"In tears we saw you were sinking,
You fought so hard to stay,
We watched you fade away,
You faced your task with Courage,
Your Spirit didnt bend,
and still you kept fighting until the very end,
God saw you tired when a cure was not to be,
He put his arms around you and
and whispered, "come to me."
Your golden heart stopped beating
Your gentle hands at rest
God broke our hearts to prove to us
that he only takes the best,
When we saw you sleeping so peacefully from pain,
How could we be selfish and wish you back to suffer that again?
It broke our hearts to loose you,
But you didn't go alone, for part of us went with you the day God took you Home.
Always Remembered & Forever Missed by
Your Family🤍"
