Diane Bredeson's Obituary
Diane Bredeson
August 30, 1950 - June 18, 2021
Tacoma, Washington - Diane Elizabeth Bredeson, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed quietly away June 18, 2021, in the presence of family.
Diane was the only child of Bill and Margie Crabtree, born August 30,1950 in Tacoma, Washington. She grew up in Alderton, graduated from Sumner High School, and received her degree from UPS. She worked as a CPA for 35 years, both self-employed and at Moss Adams. Diane married the love of her life, Jack Bredeson, in 1978. Together they raised two wonderful sons, Will and Aaron. An active family, they enjoyed camping, scouting, skiing, jeep racing with the Sun Downers, and time at their lake cabin. Jack and Diane were known for their daily morning YMCA workouts. Rigorously fit, she completed numerous 5-10K runs. They were also faithful members of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Puyallup where she sang in the church choir.
Diane became a widow at only 58, but remained positive and productive. She created a new life for herself: traveling with the TMP group, hiking in Scotland, attending the theatre, and becoming an active member of Chapter HN P.E.O. She particularly enjoyed visiting friends in (warm) Arizona, yearly outings to the Oregon coast with high school girlfriends, and family trips to Hawaii.
Diane never sought the limelight. She was happy to let others shine and be the support system behind activities. Unfailingly kind, thoughtful and generous, disciplined and loyal, honest and hardworking, Diane could always be counted on. She was tiny, but she was a rock. She bravely faced her disease diagnosis, choosing to give up her car, home and much-loved pets, Zoey and Bobbie, rather than burden her family with those decisions.
Her friends and family are comforted in the knowledge that she is at last at peace and reunited with her husband Jack in eternal rest. She is survived by her beloved sons Will (Katie) and Aaron (Lisa), her grandsons Owen, Jude, Cameron, and Braydon, a large Bredeson clan and friends who adored her. She is deeply missed.
A memorial service will be held Thursday July 1st from 1pm-4pm at Our Savior Lutheran Church 4519 112th St E Tacoma, WA 98446. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, her family respectfully requests donations be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church, the YMCA, or the Alzheimer's Association.
