Dessierine M. Chandler
Dessierine Chandler was born October 14, 1914 to Mary and Albert Brown in Little Rock, Arkansas. She passed away February 6, 2009 in Tacoma, Washington. She was the wife of SSG Adion Chandler of Pennington, Texas for 41 years until his passing on May 1, 1996. Her parents both preceded her in death along with three brothers, Jack, Tom, and Albert Brown, and one grandchild, Deon Cobb. She is survived as the loving mother of five children, Ernest French, Katie Alexander, Cecil (Elona) Green, Gillette (Joseph) McElrath, Janette Sorenson, and step-mother of Necie Samuels. Other survivors left to cherish her memory are two brothers Johnnie (Mary) Brown and Lawrence (Peggy) Brown, along with 19 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great-grandchildren. Dessie loved fishing, gardening and sewing, and outlived all of her friends, except for one, Pearlie M. Newman. Her legacy was hard work and prayer. We love and will miss her. Viewing will be held from 2:00-9:00 PM, Thursday, February 12, 2009 at Mountain View Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, February 13, 2009 in the Mountain View Celebration of Life Center.
