Derryck Blackburn's Obituary
Derryck Anthony Blackburn (Baby D), 29 of Spanaway, Washington—beloved son, brother, and uncle—passed away November 22, 2022. He was born December 13, 1992, on Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona, to Maria and Dwayne. Baby D had the ability to find joy in all the small things in life, whether it was listening to his favorite George Strait song on repeat, enjoying a bowl of mashed potatoes smothered in Tabasco sauce, or taking trips to watch fast cars zoom by at the racetracks. He had an adventurous spirit and a sense of mischief that kept his loved ones always laughing.
Derryck was a bright light in this world and had a heart big enough to make everyone he met feel loved. He will forever be remembered for his smile, his courage, and his strength in finding and spreading joy. He is survived by his mother, Maria; his father and stepmother, Dwayne and Sarah; his siblings Krystal, Bryan, Chris, and Kaitlyn; his nieces Kaia and Emrys, and nephew, Leo. He will be deeply missed by his grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, friends, and nurses.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Mountain View Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood, WA 98499 (253) 204-2187.
