I first met Denny 32years ago when I was 8 years old, I was with my dad ,Nick Stratis, in San Diego, California. My dad was working with Denny on something to do with a ship. That first evening Denny invited us to dinner, we accepted and had a wonderful dinner with him, he was very generous and let me order whatever I wanted. As an 8 yr old child I felt very important! Our family has kept in contact with Denny for 40 years, and in the last 11years he has been a very important part of my whole families lives. We will forever be greatful for Denny he treated us like we were one of his family. I love and wish you eternal happiness Denny. Tarinna and Mike Payseno and kids

I have known Dennis since his daughter Lisa came into our family. I was always invited to the family get togethers. I got to know him better as we lived next door until I moved to Alaska. My prayers are with all the family at this time and I LOVE you all.

Denny was my first love and my first broken heart. Many years later we remained friends and he helped so much when my sisters were ill. My family remembers his extraordinary kindness and concern. I met Dennis 6 weeks ago. His friend, Leonard Fonda, stopped by my office in Edgewood. He said Dennis was not able to come to my office so I quickly agreed to meet with him at home. I met with him three times regarding legal work. Our first meeting should have lasted less than an hour, but I stayed close to 2 1/2 hours - just chatting with him about Wazzu, and local and national politics. What a wonderful and nice man, who had a great sense of humor and lots of stories. If I recall, his father drove him across the state to Pullman when he was a young man. Dennis said he was dropped off downtown at a hotel, and told to "get a job". Dennis loved being a "Cougar", and shared many happy memories of his time attending college. Dennis V. Zimmerman was a very intelligent man. He worked hard during his life and refused to retire. I only knew Dennis briefly, but he made a lasting impression and will not be forgotten. Go Cougs!
