Denny
Uncle Denny
He answered to many names, but all who developed a relationship with him, knew him as a special friend. His life was lived with courage and intensity, caring and compassion, heartache and pain. Through it all, he lived his life with dignity; as a celebration of the human spirit. Denny refused to feel sorry for himself and with his overwhelming spirit for life, he refused to let others feel sorry for him either.
Denny had a lot going on inside. If you were lucky enough to spend time with him, you got to find out what that was. He loved pro sports. If there was a game on, you knew he was tuned in. He followed every move of the Sonics, Seahawks, and Mariners. He was excited when they were winning, he knew what they should have done when they lost, and he was not bashful about sharing that information with you. While he loved to watch sports, his real love was family and friends. There was never a sporting event that was more important than a game of checkers or cards with a worthy, or not so worthy opponent. And, if no board game was in the works, than coming into the kitchen for a chat or to supervise the cook, was better than the best play made at the game.
It‘s easy to see why Denny was such an important person to us. He brought out the best in us. He made us feel special. His smile and laugh would fill up a room. He always had much to say, but he always listened first. Sharing time with him allowed you to witness his incredible gift of patience. While those around him wondered how much more adversity he could endure, his indomitable spirit convinced us that God was a constant companion in Denny’s life.
Denny, we all know you are standing at GodÂ’s side, free of pain, with a joyous smile on your face as you watch over us. Denny we will miss you always.##imported-begin##The Craigs##imported-end##
