Dennis McCorkle's Obituary
Dennis E. McCorkle 10-17-44 ~ 1-17-2009 Born in Silver Springs, MD to William E. McCorkle and Inez Lambert McCorkle. Den graduated from Charlotte Hall Military Academy and attended Clemson University. DuringEsummer breaks from college, Den was a smoke jumper stationed in Butte, Montana. Den then joined the Marine Corps where he served one tour in Vietnam and also was at the Battle of Khe Sanh. After retiring from the Marines, Den worked for the Post Office. He leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Margo Jane McCorkle and his son William Alan McCorkle, his brother-in-law John McDonough and his wife Yong, sisters-in-law Patricia Landry and Helen Berns, many nieces and nephews, especially Jen and Tim Landry and great nephews Kyle and Tyler and niece Kathleen (Jim) Meatty and great niece Blythe Landry. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother William Alan McCorkle There will be no service at this time. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. The McCorkles would like to thank Orchard Park Health Care for their outstanding help for the last three years. Donations can be made to AMVETS, 5717 S. Tyler, Tacoma, WA 98409.
