Dennis Lee Hundven's Obituary
Dennis Lee Hundven was born on April 14th, 1948 in Tacoma, WA and passed away on May 8th, 2018 at St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma, WA. Dennis was preceded in death by his wife, Mary. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle (Matt), his son, Brent (Ronda); his brother Richard (Laurie), sister Karen (Jack) and sister in law, Stacey (Steve). He was “Pops” to four grandchildren: Molly (17), Mick (14), Ryan (14), and Jacob (11). He was the “Real Uncle Dennis” to numerous nieces and nephews and many other children he met along the way. He was proud to be a Teamster for over 20 years and took pride in his work. He was a coach to Brent and many other children on the baseball field and basketball court. He was a mentor to many and was always there with advice or a helping hand. In January of 2008, Dennis suffered a massive stroke. With therapy, grit, and the support of family and friends, he was able to live semi-independently for ten years post stroke. We were blessed with extra time that wasn’t always easy, but many life lessons were learned by all. He will forever be cherished in our hearts.
