Dennis Allan Forgey's Obituary
Dennis was born in Tacoma, WA on July 20, 1938 to Roy and Eleanor (Troupe) Forgey. He peacefully passed away unexpectedly on May 12, 2015.
Dennis grew up in DuPont, WA
Dennis graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science from Campbell University in North Carolina. He then graduated with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri.
He served this great nation he so dearly loved, for 30 years in the United States Air Force. While serving he flew KC 97’s and C-130’s. Dennis attained and retired at the rank of Colonel. His last assignment was at McChord as the Resource Manager. His favorite assignment was as the Wing Operations Officer at Rhein Main AFB in Frankfurt, Germany. There he formed many lasting friendships.
After retiring from the United States Air Force, he took great pleasure in assisting his many loyal clients at H&R Block in Lakewood. He recently retired from his second career after more than 25 years.
He has been married to the love of his life Nancy for 49 years. Together they raised two beautiful children, daughter Tamara and son Bryan.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife Nancy, their daughter Tamara Elwell (Timothy),
son Bryan Forgey (Anna Pirkle). His grandchildren Graham Forgey (age 8) and Connor Forgey (age 6).
Dennis is also leaves behind his uncle’s Carl Troupe (Kay) of Union, WA, Gordon Forgey (Nita) of Bremerton, WA, and aunt Pat (Bernice) Forgey of Bonney Lake, WA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be in Dennis’ name to The Salvation Army and The Wounded Warriors Project.
There will be no services per Dennis's wishes.
