Delphine Marie (LaChance) Kocha Tucker's Obituary
Delphine was born in Beaver, MI, to Joseph and Victorine Lachance on October 14, 1933. At 18 years of age, she followed her brother Fritz to Shelton, WA, where she met, and later married Walter Kocha. Together, they had two children who Delphine adored. After their children started school, Delphine began working at Brown & Haley as a factory worker, soon becoming a line supervisor. Delphine later married Joseph “Clayton” Tucker in 1985 – together they enjoyed bowling and their work at The South Tacoma Eagles. She loved spending time outside tending to her yard and gardening. She was the neighborhood Avon lady who had the gift of the gab and could sell anything! Delphine loved her family, friends, and was devoted to her church, the Legion of Mary. She was also deeply committed to The Seafarers Club, and The South Tacoma Eagles where she had served in many offices including President.
Delphine is survived by her son Steven Kocha and his wife, Ruth, as well as grandchildren, Steven (Joni) Peterson, Michele (Ryan) Davis, Nicholas (Rachel) Kocha, Natalie Matthews, Bryan Potvin, Sean (Christina) O’Donnell, Tamara (Cameron Devine) Ramsay, and numerous great grandchildren, cousins, and extended family.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Joseph “Clayton” Tucker; her parents; her daughter, Linda (Allan) Peterson, step-daughter, Robin O’Donnell, brothers, David (Lempi) Lachance, Delore (Bertha) Lachance, Albert Lachance, Elmer Lachance, Tony (Eleanor) Lachance, Wilfred “Fritz” Lachance, Zephyr “Zeph” Lachance; sisters, Emma (Charlie) Delmont, Helen Lachance, Marie (Russell) Westman, Bertha Lachance, Elaine (Stephen) Oman and Delores “Dede” (Jim) Rife.
